Nooks and Crannies of Kolob Canyon
This was exhilarating and frigid. If you want to immerse into the feeling of this painting, watch the full timelapsed video on my instagram: @AdventurePainter.
The sky-channel carved out by the waterfall was blowing so hard that my painting and easel system blew over, three times.
The third time was my sign to call it a day. (I wish I hadn't edited those moments out of the video, it was an impulse derived from embarrassment in the moment!) The painting endured awesome textural influence from each impact. There is a fissure in the work itself, running across the entire bottom third of the painting. There is snow texture embedded in the snow pile, and dirt stuck into the dirt! I think it's pretty cool. I hope you enjoy!
