The Great Red Hunter

The Great Red Hunter is an original oil paintings done by Michael Gault. The whimsical attitude of the animals in his forest neighborhood, intrigued the artist and led to a series of fox portraits capturing the beauty and personalities of various animals. This particular portrait captures the playfulness of the creatures, even during the meal-time hunt. For this series, the artist took many photographs of the foxes activities for reference purposes, but relied on his memory for spontaneous events to be portrayed. Nature and her spirit are always inspirational to Gault and fed his desires during the beginning of his career to be a plein air and landscape artist.
