Winter Stream in Sante Fe

This painting was done plein air, during a stay in Santa Fe. The late winter snow reflects the lights and darks of the shadows throughout the area while the ice on the river tenaciously holds its snowy grip. Warm light cascades in effortless patterns, illuminating the adobe structure as an inviting get-away. The piece is an oils on panel of a place that captured the artist's eye during a gallery run to the area. It presented a moody moment with a moment of backlighting that brought tranquility and peace.
