This en plein air oil painting was painted alla prima in my backyard. I didn't change the scene at all and painted exactly what I saw. It was an experiment to see if this simple subject matter could make an interesting painting. I found the light and shapes of the wheelbarrow to be very visually exciting and I like thinking about what's behind this fence.
