I took a trip to Utah for some skiing and painting in March. I totally understand why people love painting out here now. The painting came together quickly. The first layer was the sky and the light blue shadows along the mountains. After that, I used dry brush to fill in the trees and paid close attention to my values. The mountain was incredibly steep and vast, so I wanted to pay extra attention to the angles and dispersed trees.
