The Kaydeross at Rock City Falls

This is liquitex heavy body on stretched Belgian linen. I'd been photographing this old factory along the Kaydeross Creek in Rock City Falls, NY for quite some time, from different point of view, and times of day. This view, just before sunset really struck me compositionally. I was hoping for something I could start on site, but here, the site was down the bottom of a steep embankment and I'd have had to set up my tripod in the creek. It seemed like risky business, so I worked at home from my favorite refererence photo.
