Banyan trees are incredible structures, each one unique in their own way. In order to get the feeling of volume and the texture of bark, I waited until each layer of paint dried before adding the next glaze. Each branch had a different texture so I employed many application brush techniques to achieve the effect required. Achieving the right color was also a challenge, especially when mixing different greys for the body of the tree. You can't help but be in awe of these structures and be in awe of their size and longevity.
