Pillars of the Community
In the background, the viewer will see the relatively new Maumee River bridge, located between the communities of Maumee and Perrysburg, Ohio in suburban Toledo. The pillars of one of its predecessor spans still stand as stoic guardians of river history, as they have for a century or more, seemingly impervious to the interceding ravages of time and spray painted declarations of school loyalists and team boosters hailing from those respective communities from decades past. The pillars find themselves perched in a virtual adolescence DMZ, equally accessible to both shores of teen angsters bent on graffiti dominance.
