Photo taken in Newfoundland, Safe Harbour, indicative of the need for fishermen to bring their boats into safety areas away from the Atlantic Storms. The security of their livelihoods depends on their ability to protect their boats from the winds that can create surging waves along Canada's east coast. During the time of its painting I personally sustained a health event that scared me, and I sought safety from a life storm. I resonated with the photo, the serenity of it and poured that serenity into the painting. Boats held secured lovingly, safe from the weather, in a beautiful spot...whilest a stormy sky indicates something brewing in the distance. The sky's shades indicate stormy weather and foregiving weather with sunny blue skies in the future.
