Brooks

An alla prima portrait in oil on stretched linen canvas. A portrait of my son's best friend Brooks, painted last summer when he came to our house several days a week. It was gifted to his parents in honor of "the summer of Paul and Brooks." I also painted a portrait of my son Paul the same week to commemorate the fleeting summers of childhood. I started painting at the age of 40, in April of 2019 after my youngest son went to school. What a gift it was to look forward to making a life with art, even in middle age.
